The negotiations between the Rosselkhoznadzor and representatives of the State Plant Quarantine Inspectorate under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan were held on August 22, 2018 in the format of a teleconference.
The goal of the talks was a re-discussion of the issues of ensuring the safety of the fruit and vegetable products supplied from Uzbekistan to Russia, in particular, traceability of such supplies, and authorization of phytosanitary certificates issued by the Uzbek side.
The Rosselkhoznadzor once again suggested that the Uzbek side send cargo only to temporary storage warehouses (WFS), where plant quarantine points are equipped.
The parties discussed the possibility of providing the Rosselkhoznadzor with access to the information system of the Republic of Uzbekistan containing data on phytosanitary certificates issued earlier and the possibility of subsequently integrating the Uzbek system with the Russian Argus-Fito FEIS system, and agreed to discuss technical details on these issues at the IT level - Specialists during the week.
Also, the parties agreed on the need to develop certain measures to establish effective cooperation between the competent departments of the two countries that need to be discussed during the forthcoming visit of the delegation of the State Plant Quarantine Inspection to Russia in September of that year.
As previously reported, Uzbek specialists will participate in the IPPC and FAO Regional Workshop for Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia. This event will be held on the basis of the Rosselkhoznadzor FGBU "All-Russian plant quarantine center" in the period from 3 to 8 September 2018.
