Epizootic situation of especially dangerous animal diseases in the world from November 1 to 29, 2019

The Rosselkhoznadzor Administration for the Republic of Tatarstan informs that from November 1 to 29, 2019, 804 foci of especially dangerous diseases were reported to the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE).

In the territory of previously prosperous countries, the following diseases were noted:

Bluetang (CLO) in Algeria (4 outbreaks);

Infectious nodular dermatitis in India (3)

Foot and mouth disease in Myanmar (13).

New outbreaks of African swine fever have been reported in Belgium (2), Bulgaria (33), Hungary (134), China (3), Latvia (58), Moldova (3), Poland (102), Romania (160), Slovakia ( 1), Ukraine (3), as well as the Philippines (24), South Korea (10), Zimbabwe (6) and South Africa (2),

New foci of classical swine fever were recorded in Japan (125 foci) and Brazil (1).

Outbreaks of foot and mouth disease were recorded in Zimbabwe (23), Namibia (3) and South Africa (10). Bluetang (CLO) is noted in Belgium (2), Germany (2), Cyprus (2) and Switzerland (39 outbreaks). Infectious nodular dermatitis has been reported in Israel (1). In Sudan, a new outbreak of Rift Valley fever has been identified (1).

Newcastle disease cases were reported by US Veterinary Services (2 outbreaks). New foci of highly pathogenic avian influenza have been reported in Mexico (3) and in Taiwan (4 foci). An outbreak of low pathogenic avian influenza has been reported in Nigeria (1).

In addition to the above diseases, over the past period, the OIE reported foci of West Nile fever in Germany (9), Greece (1) and France (2 outbreaks). Malaysian veterinary services have reported new foci of rabies (11). In Norway, one focus of copper-visna was noted (1).
